Volte Face Blanc is the lively, sparkling side of Domaine des Dolines, a young organic estate based in Aubussargues, in the Gard region of southern France.
Made from an unusual blend of Rolle, Riesling, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Pinot Gris, this natural sparkling wine is all about freshness and effortless drinking. Its bubbles are fine and delicate, bringing energy to the wine without ever overwhelming it.
Serve it well chilled as an aperitif, with tapas or seafood - or simply whenever the moment calls for a few bubbles.
An approachable, generous Pet Nat with plenty of personality, very much in keeping with the estate's philosophy: lively, fresh wines made to be enjoyed.
Our take
We're big fans of Domaine des Dolines, and Volte Face is no exception.
What we particularly like here is its balance. The bubbles don't try to steal the show: they're fine and gentle, leaving plenty of room for the wine's fruit and freshness.
Exactly the kind of natural sparkling wine we enjoy at La Cave de Lorette: lively yet precise, distinctive yet approachable, and above all wonderfully convivial. The sort of bottle you open for an aperitif… and somehow finish sooner than expected.
